PT Solutions Reindeer Run
The PT Solutions Reindeer Run was held over the weekend in Eufaula, Alabama. We had great (albeit chilly) weather for the 5K run/walk.

PT Solutions Adds New Duathlon and Triathlon to Race Season
PT Solutions is proud to announce that two new events will be a part of the triathlon calendar. On Sunday April 17, 2011, competitors will fill the streets of Cartersville for the inaugural PT Solutions Cartersville duathlon. The duathlon will support the Bartow county FCA and Boys and Girls Club. The course is a 5k run followed by a 17 mile bike ride through the scenic area surrounding Cartersville. The race finishes with a 5k run into Dellinger Park. PT Solutions appreciates the support of the Bartow County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Cartersville City, Police and Fire for working with us on this event. PT Solutions has been involved with the PT Solutions Acworth Womens race for a number of years and now we are proud to announce that men and women will be racing in Acworth on June 5, 2011. The PT Solutions Allatoona Triathlon will feature the 500m swim in Lake Allatoona, a fast bike course through Acworth and northern Cobb and through Bartow counties, and the 5k run to end the race which finishes in Dallas, Landing Acworth, GA. We look forward to men and women racing on Lake Allatoona. Both of the races are part of the PT Solutions Race Series and participants will qualify for the Male and Female Athlete of the Year Awards. PT Solutions Womens Triathlon – Sunday August 8, 2010
Again PT Solutions staff, triathletes and friends will gather at Dallas Landing, Acworth GA for the annual PT Solutions Acworth Women’s Triathlon. The race begins at Dallas landing and after the swim the bike and run wind through Acworth. The final race finish is on main street Acworth. PT Solutions is there to support from start through after the finish. The practice has had multiple group swims and rides leading up to race day. Many athletes are being treated by our physical therapists or coached by our triathlon coaches. The race is the culmination of a lot of effort by a lot of women this summer. Many are competing in a triathlon for the first time. We wish everyone well. PT Solutions staff of athletic trainers and Physical Therapists will be there throughout. We will also be at the finish to manage the physical effects of training and racing with free screening and sports medicine coverage.
PT Solutions to Host Atlanta Area Coaches Symposium
PT Solutions Physical Therapy is set to hold a free symposium for area coaches with registration. The programming will be held on April 28, 2010 in Dallas, GA at the Dallas Theater complex. PT Solutions will be providing the latest evidence in several areas for coaches from various sports. The evening begins at 6:30pm. PT Solutions clinical team including Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers will be providing information regarding 1) The latest warm up tools and pre and post activity programs developed from leading collegiate and professional programs around the country. 2) Knee prevention programs to prevent ACL injury and patellofemoral pain 3) The latest information on the prevention and managment of heat illness in athletes 4) Information regarding baseline concussion testing and return to sport information. PT Solutions Holds 6th Annual Evidence Based Practice Symposium
PT Solutions clinicians gathered once again for the 6th Annual Clinical Symposium. PT Solutions uses this opportunity to advance the professional practice of physical therapy by focusing on the clinical evidence for our treatments. This yearly symposium also supplements the ongoing clinical research, clinical residency/mentoring, and staff training that occurs throughout the year within the practice. This year the gathering is occurred in Destin, FL. Danny Mayhan, PT, ATC is presiding over the event. Danny coordinated this clinical education and accreditation for the practices three states of operation in FL, GA, AL. Danny Mayhan oversees the practice operation in Florida.
The speakers included Eric Robertson, PT, DPT, OCS an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. Dr. Robertson’s primary area of research is investigating the role of the hip in low back pain. Dr. Roberston also serves in the faculty of Evidence in Motion Residency and serves as public relations chair for the American Academy of Orthopeadic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) and the APTA’s Orthopaedic Section. Kornelius Poelstra, MD, Ph.D. is a practicing physician with Orthopaedic Associates in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Dr. Poelstra recently relocated from his postion at the University of Maryland. Dr. Poelstra received his Medical degree and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Dr. Poelstra’s research includes teh investigation of novel therapeutics to prevent and improve treatment of infections associated with surgical procedures and implants. Dr. Poelstra treats both traumatic and degenerative/arthritic conditions using convention surgery, minimally-invasive procedures and disc replacements. Quinn Milling, PT, DPT, OCS, ECS, ATC serves as PT Solutions Chief Operating Officer. Quinn is board certified in orthopaedic and clinial electrophysiology. Dr. Millington is also a certified Athletic Trainer. Dr. Millington also teaches inside PT Solutions residency/mentoring program.
PT Solutions at ING Georgia Marathon Expo and 60+ Running Race
PT Solutions Physical Therapy continues our association with the southeast running and endurance community. The practice is a sponsor of the ING Georgia Marathon and has over 60+ PT Solutions representatives running in either the marathon or half marathon. We will be at the ING Expo screening runners prior to the race on Friday and Saturday. Please stop by our booth and meet our staff, endurance team, and runners that have returned to the sport because of the care of PT Solutions.
PT Solutions Cartersville Hosts Open House
PT Solutions hosted an open house to celebrate the opening of the PT Solutions of Cartersville – Harbin clinic facility. The Cartersville Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting and community persons, leaders, and PT Solutions staff, patients, and referring physicians attended the ceremony and open house. PT Solutions facility is directed by Matt Eastwood, PT, DPT. The clinic specializes in manual therapy, neck and low back pain, shoulder, knee and foot injuries and sports medicine management and hand injuries.
